The prototype of New York Northeastern Chinese Association was originated by Cardinal Yu Bin (于斌) in 1950’s. The pioneers of the organization were those who were from Taiwan and whose hometowns were in the northeastern part of China.

In 1983, the organization officially registered to the state government of New York under the name National Association of Chinese from N.E. Region of China in U.S.A. INC.

In 1993, Northeasters coming from Continental China started joining the organization.

In 2012, the organization re-filed an application to the government to change the name to New York Northeastern Chinese Association (NYNCA), a simpler form and more accurate to its name in Chinese (纽约东北同乡会).

NYNCA is spontaneous, nonprofit organization. The primary function of NYNCA is to
- promote information exchange between the members
- contribute to the career development and opportunities for the members
- provide advices, assistance and other services to the members
- organize activities that benefit the members

The cost in running NYNCA has been and will be the generous donation by the members.

王碚系大连人，1940年出生在四川北碚。1948年随父母迁台，毕业于国立政治大学，1965年来美，就读于纽约圣若望大学，获得历史学硕士学位，其后在纽约大学取得非营利机构管理证书。 先后担任华人策划协会行政总监，华美协进社社长，以及纽约制衣业总商会行政总监。对新移民的福利、文化、教育、工商业的发展，以及促进中美关系之互动，多有贡献，受到主流社会各级政府之重视。 曾被任命为副部长级的联邦民权委员会副主席，联邦人口普查1980年、1990年，以及2000年的顾问及主席，国务院、劳工部的顾问，总统全国心理健康委员会委员，纽约州社会福利厅副厅长，纽约市青年局委员，服务社区50年。 其中相继参与推动亚裔的联盟组织、华人移民服务团体联合会、百人会、纽约亚美联盟，促成中医针灸合法，对华人的权益贡献良多，获得各界之认可和颁奖。 贤内助王燕，任职NBC电视台34年，相夫教女，王靖，荣神益人。
